Research
The School of Computer Science
The School has research groups operating across the spectrum, from fundamental theory and innovative technology, through novel hardware and software systems design to leading-edge applications. It is the Schools policy to maintain this breadth and expand it, where appropriate.
Many of the research projects are collaborations between the groups inside the School and a substantial number of industrial and commercial companies. A significant fraction of our work is judged to be of international excellence, as witnessed by our rating of 5* (the maximum) in recent UK Research Assessment Exercises.
Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP)
PEVE also have a tradition of being involved Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (formerly Teaching Company Schemes) sponsored by the DTI, which are technology transfer projects involving partnerships between academic institutions and companies. These partnerships enable the transfer of knowledge about new technologies from academic research into the wider industrial environment.
Learning Technology Unit
The Unit has a remit to become involved in innovation related to Learning Technologies, whilst in it's infancy they have already been involved in small funded projects and look forward to a greater involvment in the future.
PEVE
PEVE has been involved in many research projects over the years. Further information about some of these may be found by selecting the links in the sub-menu for this section.
