What is the relationship between PEVE and the LTS?
With a history of innovation in methods of material development and delivery, the PEVE team were the natural choice to take on the task of helping to meet goal 4 of the Manchester 2015 Agenda. The Learning Technology team was formed to recognise the subtle different between supporting face-to-face teaching and 100% distance learning, and to distinguish it from PEVE related activities. Whilst 100% distance learning courses are heavily dependent on e-learning environments for communication and delivery of course materials, face-to-face teaching requires a blended approach.
Externally we are still known as PEVEIT and continue to provide a link between the School and externally based students, but internally the LT team's role is to support the School of Computer Science in its use of technology to support innovative teaching.
