The previous year of 2020 saw the way we all think about schooling change in ways we would never have dreamt possible. 2020 saw the introduction of a worldwide pandemic due to the spread of Covid-19. This pandemic meant that everywhere was paced into lockdown, this included schools! Meaning our children were being homeschooled for the past year with teachers offering their students online lessons.

This has changed the way parents are now thinking about schooling their children. There has been a huge increase in the number of parents that are now choosing to homeschool their children. After being successful for the past year, parents are taking their children out of school and continuing with homeschooling.

So, why is homeschool becoming so popular?

One of the main reasons why homeschooling has become so popular is due to freedom. Homeschooling means that the entire has freedom. There is no more commitment to schooling hours or when you can holiday. Your children can take their schooling work away with them, learning as and when they like. Meaning children can learn whilst travelling on holidays! This can be an issue if children decide they do not want to work, it is up to the parents to explain to their children the importance of still learning.

Another reason it has become so popular is that it allows children to have extra support. Their parents will be able to support them more in the topics that they struggle with most. They will also be able to encourage their learning through the topics they enjoy. Whilst this is good, it can cause issues if children decide not to study the lessons they do not enjoy.

These are two of the main reasons why homeschooling has become so popular. A lot of parents see it as the best opportunity, with them being able to be involved in their children’s education.
